Finding a registrar: How does a company determine which ISO/QS 9000 Registrar to use?

Answer:
The best way to make your selection of an ISO 9000 Registrar is by interviewing them. To start the process, we recommend selecting a short list of 3 to 5 potential registrars that you will invite to submit a quotation. Once you have reviewed the quotation invite the top 2 or three to give your management team a presentation of their services. (Tell the registrar that you want to interview a lead assessor, not someone in the sales department.) You should have a list of questions prepared so that you ask each company the same questions. This way you will be able to compare the answers and determine the best fit for your organization. Remember that selecting an ISO/QS 9000 registrar is just as important as selecting your CPA.
